Clear Vs. Traditional Braces In Wylie

At the office of Kevin L Carlton DDS, our Wiley orthodontist can place clear or traditional braces on both adults and children. Clear braces are slightly different from traditional braces, yet both work in the same manner and in roughly about the same amount of time. Clear braces are meant to be less visible than traditional braces. Traditional braces use hardware such as brackets and rubber bands to gently move the teeth into position. We also offer invisible braces such as Invisalign. Invisalign is great way to align teeth without the visibility of regular braces.
Clear braces, such as Invisalign, are ideal because they have low visibility and are easily taken in and out of the mouth for special occasions. Lingual braces are used behind the teeth so that they are completely invisible, but are harder to apply. When you come in for an orthodontic evaluation with our Wylie orthodontist, we’ll do an exam to determine what type of orthodontics you’re a candidate for. Our orthodontic evaluation will check for bad bites, or malocclusions, that cause the teeth to fit together incorrectly. We also check for teeth that are spaced too widely apart. Orthodontics are a great way to straighten teeth and make them look aesthetically pleasing. Teeth are easier to clean, and therefore healthier and with less dental problems.
